Privacy of our Users is of utmost importance to Salenook and we allow you to provide detailed information, as you feel necessary. Sale and User locations may be as vague as you so choose. Salenook will take all steps possible in concealing this, and all other information you provide. To help keep valuable user information safe, such as credit cards, Salenook uses PayPal to accept all payments on the site. To read PayPal’s privacy policy click here. For those who look to deal with customers nationally, Salenook encourages they do so with secure payment gateways such as PayPal.
DATA WE COLLECT
1. E-mail Address
a. Salenook collects your e-mail address for two reasons 1) to verify new accounts and 2) to notify you of expiring content as well as other important notifications
2. User Locations
a. User locations are collected after creating an account and may be as detailed as you wish. This location is used to automatically find Sales, Wants, and Local Ads near that location.
3. Content Locations
a. Content locations include the locations of Sales, Wants, and Local Ads and can be as specific of as vague as you wish as well. Salenook does recommend, but does not require, that sales with concurrent garage sale dates should be accurate so the users interested in visiting your sale can find it.
WHAT DOES SALENOOK PROTECT?
1. Users are given the option of providing as much or as little locative information as they wish.
2. Credit card information is handled by the reliable PayPal service.
3. Information collected by Salenook will never be sent to third parties
4. Salenook will not send you unsolicited e-mail advertisements
5. Usernames and Passwords are protected to the fullest extent possible by Salenook (users are still responsible for helping to keep their usernames and passwords concealed)
6. Salenook does not knowingly allow the Membership of users under the age of eighteen (18), and will remove any users suspected of failing to meet this requirement.
CIRCUMSTANCES WHEN INFORMATION MAY BE RELEASED
Although Salenook’s number one priority is the privacy of its users, the Company reserves the right to disclose any information to law enforcement if:
1. any law has been broken
2. a court order or subpoena has been issued
3. it is required to protect the rights and/or safety of the Service and its users
Salenook reserves the right to monitor and/or delete content that is believed to violate the Terms of Use.
